Course of TCM treatment
Initial visit
During your first appointment I will take a detailed TCM intake, and we will review your current symptoms and medical history.
A thorough diagnosis according to the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine includes tongue and pulse diagnoses. Depending on your symptoms, I will conduct an additional physical examination.
Of course, I will be happy to explain my findings based on TCM at our next meeting, and we will discuss your treatment options.
Treatment sessions
An acupuncture treatment lasts some 45 to 60 minutes.
The calm atmosphere in my treatment room invites you to enjoy each acupuncture session or massage as a downtime from your daily routine. The comforting warmth of a heat lamp and relaxing music may help you to unwind.
Number of TCM treatments
The number of TCM treatments necessary depends on the nature of your problem in conjunction with your individual constitution.
Sometimes a limited number of treatments with your practitioner of Chinese Medicine may improve your situation significantly. Chronic or recurring health problems may call for a treatment series of 5 or 10 acupuncture sessions, which may be repeated after an interval. In order to strengthen your health or as a preventative measure, treatments may be spaced at an interval of several weeks. This is the forté of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
